97.5% zinc

Most pennies are 97.5% zinc. Basically, they use to be made out of copper years ago. OK so I have found that real pennies weigh more. What, like you don't believe me. Hey, get an old prior to 1982 penny. Then get a new one. Please do weigh both of em. Frankly, what you will find is that old ones weight 3.1 grams. Yeah, those were copper. Sadly, the new ones weigh 2.5 grams. Like they are 97.5% zinc. Also, when you drop em, they make a different noise. Listen to the sound because the new ones are a thud and the old copper ones are a ring.
